ROLE DESCRIPTION

Newcastle College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Specialist Support Practitioner, who is trained to a minimum Level 2 in BSL, to join a passionate team that supports the achievements of students with a sensory impaired disorder, including deaf and vision impairment.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high quality one-to-one or small group support to students
* Support inclusive learning
* Help students access campus and curriculum
* Support awareness raising and understanding of access and inclusion
Qualifications and Skills
* A warm, adaptable, and enthusiastic individual.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing.
* It is essential to have a Level 2 British Sign Language (BSL) qualification and a willingness to work toward level 3.
* Level 2 English & Maths (or equivalent).
* Flexibility to work evenings and support off-site provision.
