Senior Care Worker, Cwmbran, ££15 per hour
Role Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Agency Senior Care Worker to join our team, providing high-quality care and support to vulnerable adults in a residential settings in the Cwmbran area. As a Senior Care Worker, you will be responsible for leading by example, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring the delivery of person-centred care that meets the physical, emotional, and social needs of our service users. This role requires a skilled and dedicated individual with a strong passion for care work, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
5. Provide exceptional care and support to service users, promoting independence, dignity, and well-being
6. Assist with mobility and transfers, using manual handling techniques and equipment
7. Administer medications accurately and safely, following strict guidelines and protocols
8. Develop and implement individualised care plans, in collaboration with service users, families, and healthcare professionals
9. Mentor and support junior care staff, providing guidance, training, and feedback to ensure high standards of care
10. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including care plans, medication administration, and incident reports
11. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, social workers, and therapists, to ensure comprehensive care and support
Required Skills & Experience
12. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
13. Medication administration training and experience
14. Proven experience in a care setting, preferably in a senior or leadership role
15. Manual handling experience and training, with the ability to safely lift and transfer residents
16. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
17. Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
18. Commitment to providing high-quality, person-centred care and support
