An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This challenging yet rewarding role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The role includes overseeing credit-related activities such as risk management, developing and implementing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based role at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have prior experience working within a busy credit control team
* Have strong financial understanding
* Possess problem-solving skills
* Be confident in leading a team
* Be self-motivated and driven
* Have excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the success of the credit function
Key tasks will include:
* Be the lead contact with Credit Insurers, monitoring insured limits, submitting claims, and assisting in renewal negotiations
* Organise and lead monthly meetings with senior management
* Provide management information on bad debts, debtor days, collections, and ad-hoc reports
* Manage cash collection for all Group companies
* Ensure departmental systems and protocols are efficient and compliant
* Oversee the Credit Control Department and manage the team proactively
* Handle credit applications, PODs, and major credit decisions
* Control credit limits and manage litigation and insolvency procedures
* Set and review credit policies and risk assessments
* Maintain relationships with stakeholders and visit customers as needed
