Customer Category Manager – Wholesale & Convenience
Type: Fixed Term Contract up to 12 months
Location: York (Hybrid working – approx. 2-3 flexible days a week at our office)
Salary: £40k to £45k pro rata depending on experience

Position Summary
We are recruiting for a Customer Category Manager to join the team on a 12 month fixed term contract, reporting to the Customer Category Lead. This role will develop, manage and execute our customer category plans working with key wholesale & convenience accounts.
Responsibilities
* Develop and deploy tailored channel and category plans at the customer level, including point of purchase solutions to deliver category performance and market share growth.
* Build external relationships as the first point of call for buying, merchandising and ranging teams, providing insight and growth recommendations.
* Execute Nestlé category strategy and personalize it to meet retailer needs, generating engagement and commitment.
* Deliver the POP Vision, adjacency and flow recommendations to drive the perfect store.
* Provide best‑in‑class insight to influence retailers both online and in store.
* Understand shopper dynamics across different store formats and online.
* Monitor industry and competitor activity to align commercial vision with market demands.
* Collaborate with internal teams to ensure NPD/brand pipelines meet customer and consumer needs.
Qualifications & Skills
* Commercial experience within FMCG and proven delivery as a category manager.
* Strong analytical skills to transform data into compelling stories that drive action and ROI.
* Curiosity to understand changing shopper dynamics and translate insights into clear recommendations.
* Experience creating and selling winning category plans in an FMCG environment.
* Resilience, adaptability and agility in solving challenges creatively.
* Customer‑centric mindset and ability to influence across all levels in a matrix structure.
* Courage to think differently, embrace new ideas and drive great results.
* Love of learning with a willingness to share insights internally and externally.
