Description

As a Litigation Paralegal, you will play a vital role within our Recoveries department by assisting in the management and progression of possession claims through the County Court. You will ensure that clients, represented by Flint Bishop, receive proactive, consistent, and efficient service.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week at our Leeds office. You will report to the Litigation Team Manager and the Director of Operations, Collections & Recoveries.


Key Responsibilities

* Handle your own caseload from initial instruction to obtaining possession or closing the file based on client instructions.
* Undertake fee-earning work under supervision, including:
* Create matters on our case management system.
* Obtain documents from the Land Registry and other sources, and verify their appropriateness for commencing possession proceedings.
* Issue possession proceedings via PCOL and manually.
* Prepare electronic bundles, witness statements, and agents' instructions for hearings.
* Process agents' reports and court orders.
* Enforce possession orders and liaise with third-party agents for evictions.
* Confirm possession of properties to clients and other parties.
* Manage applications such as suspending warrants, leave to enforce or reinstate possession claims, and other miscellaneous applications.
* Identify cases that may become 'non-standard' and alert your Team Manager.
* Handle incoming calls and correspondence from borrowers and their representatives, seeking to rehabilitate and avoid possession where possible.
* Make outbound calls to borrowers, clients, and other parties.
* Follow call models prescribed by our lender clients or the Department.
* Ensure compliance with FCA MCOB and CPR legislative requirements.
* Work to service standards agreed with lender clients.
* Update client systems with performed activities.
* Assist with client reporting and management information.
* Handle routine client inquiries and communications.
* Identify areas for improvement and communicate them to your manager.
* Provide guidance, feedback, and training to Trainees, escalating queries when necessary.
