About Day Oncology – Brighton
Our 20-chair Day Oncology Unit at Cabrini Brighton provides patients with a comprehensive range of cancer treatments, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive care. About the role
As the Nurse Manager of the Day Oncology Unit, you will provide clinical leadership and strategic oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care across the entire treatment journey. You will be responsible for guiding best practice in patient education, chemotherapy administration, clinical assessment, and care coordination, while driving continuous improvement initiatives and service excellence.
Working in close partnership with a multidisciplinary team, you will foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and an exceptional patient experience.
Key responsibilities
10. Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary health care team.
11. Delivering care to patients to meet Cabrini’s organisational goals.
12. Demonstrating attention to the needs of the patient and family to maintain privacy, dignity and confidentiality.
13. Work respectfully within the team to deliver excellent patient care within the framework of the Cabrini Mission and Values.
You will require the following attributes
14. AHPRA nursing registration as a registered nurse
15. Previous experience as a NUM (or ANUM looking for their next move)
16. Currently working towards Post Graduate Certificate/Diploma in Health Service Management or relevant field desirable
17. Evidence of strong leadership skills and change management
18. Good understanding of workforce planning, and proven management ability in managing budgets
19. Demonstrated experience in building cohesive highly functioning teams
20. Highly developed communication and organisational skills
21. Experience in quality improvement activities that have led to improved patient care outcomes and patient experience
22. Ability to lead and work as part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team
