We are currently looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our Bank Team as Food Catering Assistants. This is a fantastic opportunity to work flexibly, support our busy catering service, and make a real difference to the experience of patients and visitors.
About the Role
As a Food Service Assistant, you will be an essential part of our catering team. You’ll work across both the galleys and the dining room, ensuring high standards of food service and cleanliness are maintained at all times. Shift patterns are various and can range from; 7am- 3pm, 11.30am – 7.30pm, 12.00pm – 8.00pm. These are dependant on cover requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Meal Provision: Assist with the preparation and delivery of all meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), including plating meals, loading trays, and placing them into heated trolleys for service.
* Dining Room Service: Provide full meal service to staff and visitors in the dining room, vending areas, and hospitality settings.
* Basic Food Preparation: Prepare simple items such as salad boxes and “Grab and Go” products.
* Cleaning Duties: Maintain cleanliness across all catering areas, including dishwashing, floors, surfaces, tables, chairs, cupboards, and equipment.
* Stock Management: Replenish stock items in the dining room and galleys according to required levels.
* Service Area Reset: Prepare and reset service areas for the next meal period.
* Team Support: Assist other areas of the catering department as required.
About you
You will hold a friendly and approachable attitude, demonstrate great attention to detail, and thrive when working as part of a team to deliver excellent service.
In addition, you will hold:
* An Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate (or be willing to complete training).
* Previous customer service experience, ideally in catering or hospitality.
* Good literacy and numeracy skills for accurate record-keeping.
* The physical ability to work on your feet for long periods and handle tasks such as pushing trolleys and lifting stock.
