National Account Manager

Macgregor Black are partnering with a growing UK toy company on the search for a National Account Manager. This is a permanent role based in London.
As the National Account Manager you’ll take full P&L responsibility for a portfolio of accounts across the value, discount and clearance channels – think B&M, Home Bargains, The Range, Poundland, etc. You’ll be tasked with building long-term relationships, driving growth, and ensuring the business continues to outperform in this highly competitive segment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Full ownership and management of national accounts within the value/discounter space.
* Deliver against revenue and margin targets through strategic planning and promotional execution.
* Build and nurture relationships with key retail partners and buying teams.
* Lead range presentations, negotiations, and JBP creation.
* Work closely with internal teams (marketing, supply, product) to deliver tailored retail solutions.
* Monitor market trends and competitor activity, adjusting plans as needed.
* Report regularly on account performance, risks and opportunities.
What We're Looking For:
* Proven experience as a National Account Manager (or equivalent) within the toy, gifting, or FMCG categories.
* Essential: Strong track record of managing and growing accounts in the value/discounter retail space.
* Deep understanding of the commercial dynamics of these channels.
* Comfortable managing margin pressures, promotional plans and volume-led sales.
* Confident, numbers-driven, and commercially savvy.
* Strong negotiator with a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset.
* Ideally London-based or commutable, with flexibility to travel for meetings.
