Job Description
As a Principle Information Security Specialist you will be responsible for ensuring Group assets are secured appropriately based on their importance to the Group, enhancing the Group’s security posture and ensuring all people, processes and technology operate securely.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert advice to minimise the impact of potential threats to the network or assets.
* Liaise with partners and suppliers to evaluate their information security levels.
* Lead, mentor and provide guidance to Service Desk and Infrastructure engineers during security alerts.
* Support and investigate vulnerabilities and recommend defensive actions.
* Ensure information security policies are implemented, enforced and monitored.
* Develop and review Information Security Standards and Guidelines.
* Approve security procedures that detail steps for service areas.
* Lead the Security GRC team to deliver security work.
* Collaborate with Infrastructure Solution Architects and IT GRC Team on security risks in infrastructure, processes and software.
* Critique high‑ and low‑level designs to ensure compliance and regulatory requirements.
* Own risk assessments across departments and report results to senior leaders.
* Guide timely actions from risk assessment findings and liaise with relevant parties.
Policy, Standards, Procedures and Guidelines
* Ensure policies are implemented, enforced, monitored and complied with.
* Develop and review standards and guidelines in line with industry best practice.
* Approve detailed procedures for service areas.
* Provide knowledge and leadership to the Security GRC team.
* Work with architects and IT GRC on risks relating to infrastructure, processes, software implementation.
* Critique designs and deliver security throughout lifecycle to meet compliance and regulatory reqs.
* Ensure risk assessments are completed and reported to senior leaders.
* Provide guidance on timely actions from risk assessment recommendations and liaise with other departments, partners or suppliers.
Keep Abreast of Data Security Trends
* Stay aware of current and future trends and incorporate them into procedures and policies.
* Adhere to standards such as NIST, PCI‑DSS, ITIL.
What Will Make You Stand Out?
* Build working relationships with technical and business stakeholders.
* Experience in large enterprise environments.
* Understanding of cloud technology, preferably Azure.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Strong knowledge of cybersecurity standards and frameworks (ISO27001, NIST, CIS, OWASP, SOC2).
* Experience with security technologies.
