Job Title: European Road Freight Operator
Location: Morley, LS27
Salary: 30,000 - 35,000 DOE
Flexible hours: 7:30-16:00 and 9:00-17:30 (37.5 hour week)

Job Purpose
To support the operations team in the coordination and execution of European road freight services. The role involves assisting with transport planning, customer communication, customs formalities, and general administrative duties. This entry-level position provides full training to develop a career in international logistics.
Responsibilities
* Assist Senior Operators in planning groupage, full-load, and express deliveries to and from European destinations
* Liaise with round-trip drivers to support daily operations
* Support the sourcing of one-way international equipment and assist in negotiating with hauliers
* Maintain regular communication with overseas agents and logistics partners
* Assist in allocating domestic collections and deliveries to in-house and third-party hauliers
* Respond to customer queries and provide shipment updates
* Contribute to the monitoring of KPIs for key clients
* Perform accurate data entry and help generate required documentation
* Assist with charging files in preparation for invoicing
* Support customs clearance processes, including export/import declarations, GVMS, and NCTS procedures
Skills and Experience Required
* Interest in European road freight or a similar logistics/transport role
* Basic understanding or willingness to learn customs procedures and documentation
* Familiarity with or willingness to learn about import/export processes
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel
* Good administrative skills with strong attention to detail
* Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal
* Customer-focused with a professional attitude
* Commercial awareness or willingness to develop an understanding of cost-effective operations
