Where will you be working?
At M Group Energy, we support vital energy needs. We provide end-to-end solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering, and decarbonisation of homes.
This role is within our Metering team. We are the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, offering efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity, and water meters.
Our meter readers install, maintain, and manage meters to ensure accurate billing and monitor energy usage patterns.
What will you be doing?
As an engineer, you'll respond to emergency and maintenance appointments for EON, ensuring smart meters are functioning correctly. You will often work independently, communicating with customers and explaining the benefits and safe usage of their smart meters.
Your daily tasks include installing and removing SMETS2 smart meters in customers' homes, completing around 5 jobs per day, with additional earning opportunities through uncapped bonuses for extra jobs.
You will travel around your area using a tablet to view your schedule, which is available up to 2 weeks in advance. Continuous training will be provided to develop your skills. Many of our team members have been promoted from technician roles, offering career longevity.
Health and safety are central to our operations. You will receive onboarding and ongoing training to ensure safety standards are met. Support is available through weekly meetings and field managers.
What You’ll Bring
* A valid UK driving license held for at least 1 year with fewer than 6 points.
* Qualifications such as CCN1 / CMA1 / CMA3 with MET1, or an NVQ Level 2 in Smart Metering Dual Fuel.
* Experience installing gas and electric smart meters.
* Previous MOCOPA experience at a multi-rate level.
Additional qualifications like REGT1 or 3-phase are a bonus but not required.
