Overview
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic team within our Aerospace Business Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting bids, overseeing and managing projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, expertise in project planning, customer and stakeholder management.
This role would suit a candidate who has proven project management experience and is looking to progress their career, moving into a fast-moving company with a world-wide customer base.
This role will be based in our Preston office with occasional travel to our clients' sites as required. As part of our commitment to flexible working, employees can combine office work with remote working.
Responsibilities
Support business development and bid activities, including requirements capture, scope definition, cost estimation, and scheduling.
Responsibility for the performance of projects within your area of responsibility
Own programme financial performance, including forecasting, budgeting, and cost control.
Develop and maintain integrated programme plans, budgets, and schedules.
Identify, assess, and mitigate programme risks.
Ensuring that the customers' requirements are being met and achieving maximum efficiency and economy compatible with the quality required by the customer.
Driving continuous improvement with your area of responsibility
Ensure compliance with the relevant Quality standards and business and customer processes.
Ensuring the security of data and information received in-confidence from clients.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
HND/degree level within an Engineering, Project Management or Business/Operational Management field or/and be able to demonstrate experience and proven capability.
Recognised Project/Programme Management qualification (e.g., APM, PMP, MSP) preferred.

Ability to drop in to detailed tasks to drive the team forward at pace when required
Great communication skills.
Management of self and workload to ensure on time delivery.
Conversant with Microsoft Office packages and Project Management Tool sets
Experience
Significant experience in delivering successful projects
Exceptional KPI Ownership & delivery focus
High level of contractual and financial acumen
Significant / Aerospace / Defence sector experience preferably within an Engineering Services business.
Experience of performance management of people & teams
Experience of working with diverse and multiple stakeholders, in a complex environment
