Full Job Description

If you have not heard of Moat Barn Day Nursery before, we are part of a small group of Suffolk based nurseries that are privately owner and passionate about childcare. We are an Ofsted Good setting and strive to always provide the best.

Our Nursery

Moat Barn Nursery School is located within a converted Barn and specialist designed buildings set amongst the Suffolk countryside.

We provide our children with fantastic opportunities to play and learn inside and outside. The facilities and surrounding are very unique as the nursery is in a beautiful rural setting yet still, only 3 miles from Woodbridge and only 20 minutes from Ipswich town centre.

This is an opportunity to join an exciting business with a real focus on staff development and on delivering the highest quality of childcare possible. We believe that the ethos and surrounding environment in which we deliver childcare is completely unique. We are looking for proactive professionals who want to add value by introducing new ideas and challenging the status quo.

We have a dedicated team of staff, whose enthusiasm and commitment is demonstrated when working with the children. We value and invest in our staff and constantly strive to support the development of our team members.

Early Years Practitioner

As an Early Years practitioner, you will spend your days looking after children from 3 months old to 5 years of age. You'll ensure that the children have fun whilst being sensitive and attentive to their individual needs.

As an Early years Practitioner, you will need to be confident in speaking to parents, work well within a team and communicate effectively with others. As part of the team, we will offer training and personal development.

· To work as a member of our team, contributing both in terms of initiative and creativity to an environment which encourages the development of our children

· To provide a high standard of care

· To understand the policies and procedures in place within our Nursery and to actively seek out help, advice, and support from more senior members of staff

· To be involved in aspects of the day to day running of our Nursery

· To be a reliable member of the Moat Barn Nursery team, working cooperatively and flexibly

· To have an understanding that every child is different and so are their needs

· To have a desire and self-motivation to learn and understand child development

· To observe each child's progress and consider their next steps developmentally

· To be involved in developing positive relationships with parents/carers and outside agencies with support from Senior staff

· To work productively with colleagues

· To assist with the supervision of children whilst playing and learning – both inside and outside

· To assist with the supervision of children whilst they are eating and sleeping

· With the support and guidance of senior staff, to assist with planning a programme of activities which are age and stage appropriate for children following the EYFS guidelines

· To assist with the creation of a stimulating and attractive classroom environment
