1:1 SEND Tutor Herefordshire

Prospero Teaching is seeking passionate and dedicated 1:1 SEND Tutors to work with young people across Herefordshire who are currently not in mainstream education. These bespoke tuition sessions are designed to meet individual needs and reignite a love of learning.
About the Role
This is a rewarding opportunity to work with children and young people who face significant barriers to education. Many of the pupils we support have SEND, experience anxiety, or have become disengaged from traditional classroom settings. As a 1:1 tutor, you will play a vital role in helping them regain confidence, routine, and educational progress.
You will be responsible for:
Planning and delivering personalised sessions tailored to each learners needs.
Encouraging re-engagement in learning and promoting emotional wellbeing.
Supporting educational progression with the ultimate goal of reintegration into school.
Sessions typically run part-time during the school day and are scheduled based on family availability. Progress is tracked through weekly reports submitted to Prospero Teaching.

East Herefordshire (Bromyard & Whitbourne Area)
South Herefordshire (Ross-on-Wye & Golden Valley)
West Herefordshire (Hay-on-Wye & Border Villages)
Role: SEND Tutor (1:1)
Contract type: Temporary (part-time, minimum 10 hours per week)
Start date: Immediate
Duration: Ongoing until pupil transitions back into school
Hourly rate: From GBP25 per hour (dependent on delivery and experience)
Schedule: Flexible within school hours, MonFri
Ideal Candidate Profile:
QTS or relevant tutoring/educational qualifications
Prior experience teaching or supporting children with SEND
Confidence working independently and creatively
Skilled in managing challenging behaviours
Training in PECS, Makaton or therapeutic approaches (beneficial but not essential)
Requirements:
Right to work in the UK
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
Two professional references covering child-related experience
