At Mitie, we are eagerly looking for passionate security enthusiasts to join our Security Guard teams nationwide for our new, exciting project with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a professional and dedicated team that makes a difference in communities across the United Kingdom.
Responsibilities include:
1. Travel across various DWP sites within the region, requiring flexibility.
2. Ensure a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors, and property.
3. Patrol premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
4. Monitor and control access to the building, ensuring proper identification and verification.
5. Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
6. Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
7. Provide high-level customer service and assist staff and visitors with security-related matters.
8. Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
9. Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations.
Security and Health & Safety
1. Report any Health & Safety hazards or potential hazards on site immediately.
2. Stay alert to threats or changes within the work environment and take appropriate actions to reduce disruptions, loss, or damage.
3. Use common sense and initiative, involving others if a situation becomes threatening.
4. Maintain professional conduct in difficult situations and with challenging customers.
5. Complete accurate incident reports promptly after any incident.
6. Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
7. Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report incidents.
Qualifications
* Previous security experience preferred.
* SIA Licence required; SD Licence preferred.
* Full UK driving licence required.
