Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Vacex Operator Driver to join our team. Ideally, candidate will possess a background in construction. This role requires excellent communication skills and mechanical knowledge to ensure the smooth operation of the vehicle and adherence to delivery schedules.
Duties
* Operate vacuum excavation equipment (suction excavators) safely and efficiently.
* Ensure timely and safe delivery of service while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies.
* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
* Maintain accurate records of work completed, incidents, and delays. and vehicle maintenance.
* Communicate effectively with site supervisors, utility companies, and ground teams. regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
* Carry out non-invasive excavation near live utilities (gas, electric, water, telecoms).
* Utilise mechanical knowledge to perform basic repairs and maintenance on the lorry when necessary.
Requirements
* Valid UK driving licence (HGV Class 2 preferred)
* CSCS Card (essential)
* Experience operating vacuum excavation units (Desirable but training can be provided)
* Good awareness of underground utility avoidance
* Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.
* Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently while on the road.

* Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
Desirable
* CPCS/NPORS for plant machinery (if applicable)
* Streetworks (NRSWA)
* EUSR or SHEA Card (Water / Gas / Telecoms)
