Overview
FINTEC Recruit is seeking an Electronic Design Engineer for our successful and established engineering client based in Caithness and Sutherland.
This is a permanent, full-time position with relocation allowance/assistance if relevant.
Working Monday–Thursday 8am–5pm, Friday 8am–12.30pm.
Competitive salary depending on experience.
Responsibilities
* Design and develop electronic circuits and systems
* Work on battery management systems (BMS) and power electronics
* Produce schematics and PCB layouts
* Support testing, prototyping, and fault‑finding
* Create technical documentation
* Work closely with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams
* Ensure designs meet relevant industry standards
Requirements
* Degree in Electronic Engineering (or similar)
* 3+ years’ experience in electronic design
* Experience with analogue, digital, or power electronics
* PCB design experience using tools such as Altium, OrCAD, or KiCad
* Embedded systems and microcontroller knowledge
* Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
* Experience with battery systems or BMS
* Knowledge of regulated or safety‑critical industries
* EMC/EMI experience
* Embedded C/C++ knowledge
