An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled, experienced, and motivated Dental Nurse to join the Orthodontic and Oral Maxillofacial team within NHS Fife. The ability to travel is essential, as the successful candidate will be required to work across departments at both Queen Margaret Hospital and Victoria Hospital to support service needs. You will be part of a dedicated team of Orthodontic and Oral Maxillofacial Dental Nurses, working closely with the Senior Dental Nurse to ensure the efficient running of our departments. This includes delivering high standards of clinical care and nursing practice, as well as providing comprehensive surgery and administrative support to our Specialist Consultants and clinicians. Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills are essential for this role. A thorough and up-to-date understanding of infection control procedures is vital. Practical experience in Orthodontic and Oral Maxillofacial procedures is desirable. Applicants should hold the NEBDN Dental Nursing Certificate, the NEBDN Orthodontic Specialist Nurse Certificate, or a Sedation Certificate. Candidates who do not currently hold these qualifications must be willing to work towards achieving them, as they are a requirement of the post. For informal enquiries, please contact Amy McIntyre- SDN, OMFS Orthodontic Dept on 01592 643355 Extn 21462. A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment. To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigrations Service. As part of the pre-employment checks for a preferred candidate, NHS Scotland Boards will check your entitlement to work in the UK. It can be evidenced through a number of routes including specific types of visa as well as EU settled and pre-settled status. To find out more about these routes of permission, please refer to the GOV.UK websitehere. For specific types of post, if you do not have the necessary eligibility to work in the UK, it might be possible (though not guaranteed) to secure sponsorship via a UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa. However, this is only possible if the employer is a licenced Sponsor, and if the post does not fall below the current minimum salary threshold or ‘going rate’. Further information on these criteria can be foundhere. It is ESSENTIAL that you have checked that you either already have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible to be sponsoredBEFORE submitting your application form. We offer flexible working and family-friendly policies and fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long-term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices. NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best.
