About the Role
Transport Co‑ordinator (fixed‑term 6 months covering maternity leave). Responsible for planning and coordinating home‑to‑school/college/day‑centre transport for vulnerable special needs young people and adults, managing about 70 part‑time staff and processing invoices. Report to a small office‑based team.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and coordinate transport services for over 2000 passengers daily.
* Manage up to 70 part‑time staff, ensuring schedules meet service level agreements.
* Process payroll and invoices for transport staff.
* Maintain knowledge of local road networks and liaise with contractors, schools, colleges and day centres.
* Provide excellent telephone and customer service to users and their families.
Candidate Profile
Well‑organised, adaptable, able to work in a busy office environment. Demonstrates empathy towards the client group and families; strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Teams); calm under pressure.
Requirements
* Experience coordinating transport services or a similar planning role.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Previous experience working with vulnerable or special‑needs populations preferred.
* DBS check required.
Working Conditions
Fixed‑term contract (6 months). Must be able to commit to the full duration and possess the right to work in the UK or meet the Home Office criteria for visa sponsorship. DBS check mandatory.
