Key responsibilities include:
* Planning and delivering engaging Design Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
* Teaching aspects of product design, materials, and manufacturing processes
* Supporting pupils in developing creative design ideas and practical solutions
* Supervising safe use of workshop equipment and tools
* Assessing pupil work and providing constructive feedback to support progress
* Encouraging creativity, innovation, and independent thinking
* Contributing to departmental planning and curriculum development
* Supporting extracurricular opportunities such as design clubs or project competitions
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
* Have strong subject knowledge in Design Technology or a related discipline
* Demonstrate the ability to deliver engaging practical lessons
* Be confident managing workshop environments and maintaining safety standards
* Possess excellent classroom management and communication skills
* Be committed to supporting pupils’ creativity and technical development
