Day to day management of the setting, ensuring child and staff safety and wellbeing.
Curriculum Implementation: Create and maintain a safe, stimulating and exciting
environment for both children and staff. Develop and support staff to deliver age
appropriate activities and ensure the highest standards and quality of care are upheld.
Manage and maintain staff records - including training, DBS and Ofsted requirements
and any other relevant accreditations and certifications.
Lead recruitment of pre-school staff, including advertising, interviewing and collating
feedback.
Liaise with the pre-school committee, as per the Charities Commission guidance.
Lead responsibility for ensuring detailed records are held and maintained to
demonstrate compliance with safeguarding, funding and audit regulations
Lead responsibility for parent / carer communications on all matters relating to the preschool – including concerns and complaints and promoting the setting.
Manage and support pre-school staff, including inductions for new staff members and
ensuring training and professional development requirements are met in a timely
manner. Ensure staff hours, holidays and sickness are tracked and managed suitably.
Hold regular 1-2-1 and training / professional development reviews to ensure preschool progression.
Coordinate the management of all pre-school supplies, including resources, first aid
equipment and food are monitored and replaced as appropriate, in conjunction with
the deputy managers and finance administrator.
Strategic Growth: Develop and implement ideas to improve the pre-school, including
curriculum related activities and enrolment numbers.
