Job Purpose
As anAssistant or Consultant Ecologist you will work closely with oursenior ecologists and design teams to deliver ecology andbiodiversity surveys and assessments. This will include sitesurveys data processing and reporting. You will also have theopportunity to develop your clientfacing skills and will gainexperience in the whole project lifecycle.
Youwill have a sound understanding of relevant legislation and policywill be proactive in keeping yourself up to date with the latestdevelopments and will be able to apply this to your professionalrecommendations. You will have an understanding of the implicationsof the Environment Act 2021 and will have some experience of UKHabitat surveys and the biodiversity metric. You will have apassion for the discipline and we welcome applicants who are eithergeneralists or are pursuing particular specialist areas ofinterest.

KeyResponsibilities
Assist our seniorecologists design teams and project managers in all ecology andbiodiversity deliverables;
* Assistwith habitat and species surveys;
* Lead simplersurveys and/or surveys in your area ofspecialism;
* Communicate clearly and in a timelymanner;
Reportwriting;
* Carrying out desk studiesconsultations research data management andanalysis;
* Helping to scope proposals and workup fees;
* Health and safety riskassessment;
* Helping with the daytoday efficientrunning of the team and taking on some wider responsibilities e.g.booking equipment work planning team eventsetc.;
* Proactive participation in teammeetings.
Qualifications& Experience
In excess of oneyear relevant UK experience.
* Drivinglicence preferred.
* CIEEM membershippreferred.
