The new appointments will join the existing permanent medical staff team of 12 Emergency Medicine Consultants, 3 Emergency Medical Practitioners and 5 Specialty Doctors, providing senior clinical decision making and leadership to Forth Valley’s Emergency Department. It is expected that the successful applicant will have a high clinical profile with the drive and initiative to achieve and sustain the highest standards of emergency medical care. The new appointment will participate in the on-site out of hours rota as part of normal job planned activity and will share with the existing Consultants, the supervision and shop-floor training of junior medical and nursing staff. Consultant support (remotely) is also provided to a nurse-led Minor Injuries Unit at Stirling Community Hospital. NHS Forth Valley is undergoing a period of dynamic change in relation to the organisation of acute unscheduled care. This is part of a wider improvement plan which incorporates a new Flow Navigation Hub (FNH) and Urgent Care Centre (UCC) in line with Scottish Government directed service improvement changes and same-day emergency care.
