Rota - Wednesdays to Saturdays 9.30am to 7.15pm Rota includes bank holidays if these fall upon a Friday.
Driver desired as will need to travel between all sites on a daily basis throughout Southampton City & Woolston Experience or understanding of young people & parents support needs beneficial.
Southampton Young People provides supported accommodation for up to 20 people between the age of 16 and 21, including care leavers and looked after children. The service operates across various locations in Southampton, each is tailored to the needs of the clients and offer various levels of support.
Our aim is to support young people with their individual needs to enable them to gain life skills to move on to long term, lower or independent supported living.

JOB PURPOSE
To be part of a team that supports our clients, keeping them safe and helping them achieve their goals.
To provide people with homes and specialist support so they feel more valued and secure, and ready to take the next steps.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To support clients by helping them to gain practical life skills, and encourage their engagement with the running of the service
2. To assist clients with managing their finances, paying rent, managing arrears and accessing benefits
3. To carry out daily checks, for example, on clients and the property, and ad hoc housekeeping tasks
4. To support individuals to achieve their desired goals
5. To encourage and signpost clients to the local community and to resources relevant to their aspirations including education, training, employment activity or volunteering
6. To support clients in trauma informed and psychologically informed ways
7. To adhere to safeguarding responsibilities, following our safeguarding policy and procedure
8. To help maintain health and safety, ensuring clients, visitors and buildings are safe in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, policy and procedures
9. To provide basic first aid assistance until help arrives (full training is provided)
10. To work confidently and efficiently when lone working
11. To maintain accurate records on our client management system and ensure these are stored in line with GDPR
12. To maintain confidentiality
13. To represent the organisation in a professional manner
14. To carry out any other reasonable duties required in the interest of the organisation
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
15. This role will require an Enhanced with Barred List(s) disclosure and barring service check is a requirement for this role. This would be completed on appointment of the role.
16. This role will require a full drivers’ licence and access to a vehicle
17. This role will require you to work flexibly across several sites
18. This role may require you to work with clients on a one-to-one basis
19. This role may require you to work nights and/or weekends
