Overview


Library Outreach Assistant — Cornwall Council

We’re looking for someone who’s friendly and loves working with people of all ages. This is a public/customer-facing role.

Working pattern
Usual working pattern will be: Saturday morning in Bodmin Library (9:30-1:30). Hours may vary and on occasion there may be a requirement to work in Callington Library.


Your Role

* Engage with, and support customers in person, by phone, email, and social media.
* Promote and support reading for pleasure and well-being.
* Assist in organising events and activities both within the library and out in the local community.

You’ll need to stay calm in challenging situations, manage multiple tasks, and juggle priorities. Confidence in helping customers access digital information is essential.

This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies. This position will be subject to a standard criminal record disclosure check.
