Band 4 Speech and Language Therapy Assistant – Adult Services
Location: Bromley (various sites)
Salary: £32,199 – £34,876 per annum (inclusive of HCAS, pro‑rata).
Contract: Permanent, full‑time (37.5 hrs/week) – part‑time considered.

Job overview
A full‑time or part‑time position within the Adult Community Speech and Language Therapy (ASLT) team. Your work will support adults with communication and swallowing disorders, including dementia, Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis, assist in therapy programmes, support the outpatient fibre‑optic endoscopic evaluation (FEE) service and triage referrals.
Main duties
* Support provision of ASLT services to residents in Bromley.
* Carry out therapy programmes devised by qualified Speech and Language Therapists, including therapy groups.
* Work closely with patients, families and carers.
* Assist with communication books and charts, alternative communication technology and voice banking.
* Support the running of outpatient FEE service.
* Help the service meet key performance indicators, including triaging referrals.
Qualifications
* Current UK driving licence.
* GCSEs A–C in Maths or equivalent.
* Basic Life Support.
* Manual handling training.
* Speech and Language Therapy training.
Experience & skills
* Experience in an administrative role.
* Experience working with Speech and Language Therapists.
* Experience with adults with communication or swallowing difficulties.
* Team environment experience.
* Past experience in a health‑care environment.
* Experience with MDT triage or FEE service.
* Independent working without direct supervision.
* Strong written and oral communication skills.
* Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
* Ability to travel around the community to support ASLT services and patients.
* Experience as an AHP assistant.
* Good IT skills with Microsoft Office, EMIS, spreadsheets and ordering systems.
