Position Overview
Area Planner (Roads and Networks) is a key role within the Integrated Planning team for the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project. The position supports design, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics and construction for the Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Instrumentation & Control scopes.
Responsibilities
* Drive an area‑based Planning framework, integrated with reporting and interdependencies, ensuring alignment of top‑down and bottom‑up reporting from strategic levels through Levels 1–5.
* Develop and maintain the schedule baseline integrated work schedule (IWS), fully logic‑linked work plans aligned to the Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and utilizing effective techniques.
* Support management to assess risks and opportunities, providing evidence‑based and balanced judgement for timely, accurate information.
* Enable robust review and challenge of delivery and schedule‑level reporting that impacts overall project‑level strategic delivery.
* Produce timely area Planning and Schedule reports for stakeholders, following a defined reporting cycle.
* Challenge strategies for baseline schedule project delivery sequence.
* Continuously develop the Planning team approach by capturing and sharing operational experience and learning.
* Analyze information to identify key risks, making evidence‑based decisions that drive the planning strategy in a pragmatic, systematic way.
* Collaborate effectively with colleagues within and across organisational boundaries to achieve mutually successful outcomes, in line with HPC project values and culture.
* Account for the application of the Trend & Change process within the schedule, including project‑level analysis, performance indicator generation, and risk‑opportunity feedback.
* Integrate all associated supply‑chain schedules and planning data.
* Ensure project scheduling standards and procedures are adhered to.
* Guarantee that all project documents, particularly Sensitive Nuclear Information, are correctly marked and protected per policy.
Education, Experience and Skills
* Minimum of a degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related field.
* Demonstrable experience in a Planning team within a complex, highly regulated industry (ideally nuclear or energy) with active integration management across stakeholders.
* Proven experience applying Integrated Planning frameworks and methodologies to the strategic and operational management of major infrastructure projects.
* Expertise in Planning and Project Controls technology solutions, managing implementation and delivery of complex projects.
* Experience planning within highly regulated industries and complex projects.
