SEN Teacher – Specialist Resource Base (RIGs Provision)
Mainstream Primary School Setting
Start Date: After Easter Half Term
Contract Type: Full Time
Pay: Competitive daily rate / paid to scale (dependent on experience)

We are currently seeking an experienced and committed SEN Teacher to join a welcoming mainstream primary school to lead and manage a specialist Resource Base / RIGs provision. This is a full-time opportunity for a skilled practitioner who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and creating an inclusive, structured learning environment where every child can succeed.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the teaching, planning, and day-to-day running of a small, dedicated provision supporting a cohort of up to 8 pupils with a range of special educational needs. You will be supported by a team of Teaching Assistants, working collaboratively to deliver personalised learning programmes and promote pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.


Key Responsibilities

* Plan, prepare, and deliver highly differentiated lessons to meet individual learning needs

* Lead and coordinate the daily running of the specialist provision

* Work closely with Teaching Assistants to implement structured interventions and targeted support

* Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) / EHCP targets

* Foster a positive, nurturing, and consistent learning environment

* Use effective behaviour management strategies to support pupils with additional needs

* Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting provision where necessary

* Liaise with the school’s SENCo, senior leadership team, parents/carers, and external professionals

* Promote inclusion and support pupils’ integration into mainstream activities where appropriate


Candidate Requirements

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification

* Demonstrable experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally within a specialist provision or resource base

* Strong understanding of adaptive teaching strategies and inclusive classroom practice

* Confidence in leading a small team and working collaboratively with support staff

* Excellent communication, organisation, and planning skills

* A calm, patient, and resilient approach with a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
