Phaidon International are working with a cutting‑edge IoT smart technology company providing high‑quality installation and support services. Their projects typically involve coordinating skilled technical teams to deliver installation programmes lasting anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks across multiple UK sites.
They're growing rapidly, and looking for a hands-on, technically minded Project Manager who can oversee and coordinate installation activity across several live sites at once. This role is office‑based but closely connected to what’s happening on the ground making your technical understanding and operational awareness absolutely vital.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of IoT installation projects, including:
Project Coordination & Delivery
* Oversee multiple installation projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
* Plan resources, schedule work, and coordinate teams delivering installations of electrical/IoT products.
* Monitor project progress, identify risks early, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
Technical & Operational Leadership
* Use your technical background to understand installation requirements, site constraints, and what is realistically achievable operationally.
* Provide guidance to field teams, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant installation work.
* Troubleshoot site-related issues, liaise with engineers, and support decision‑making based on practical experience.
Stakeholder & Team Management
* Communicate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Manage day‑to‑day team performance, address on-site challenges, and support effective man‑management across all projects.
* Prepare project documentation, updates, and reports for internal and client stakeholders.
Health, Safety & Compliance
* Ensure all work is delivered in line with UK H&S standards.
* Apply industry best practices and ensure team compliance with installation safety processes and company policies.
Who We’re Looking For
We’d love to hear from people who bring technical credibility and a practical, solution‑focused mindset especially if you are:
Ideal Background
* Someone who has completed a technical apprenticeship (electrical or mechanical preferred).
* Currently working in project management, or Looking to transition from a hands-on technical role into project management.
Essential Skills
* Strong organisational and coordination skills.
* Ability to manage people, solve problems, and deal with the real‑world obstacles common in installation environments.
* Excellent communication, planning, and multi‑tasking abilities.
* A proactive, calm, and resourceful approach to challenges.
Preferred Certifications
Not essential but definitely beneficial:
* PRINCE2, APM, or similar project management certification.
* CSCS, SSSTS, SMSTS, or other UK installation‑related safety qualifications.
