Our client offers a permanent Senior Occupational Therapist position in their acute mental health service. The role involves working with up to 28 male service users aged 18–65 who are experiencing an acute crisis in their mental health. Service users receive support to develop new skills, optimise functioning and maximise quality of life, with the aim of progressing towards discharge to the community.
Salary: GBP35,360 : GBP40,588

Job Role
* Receive and respond promptly to new admissions, undertake service user assessments to identify and prioritise needs, and plan and deliver appropriate interventions either individually or in groups. The OT team follows MOHO (Model of Human Occupation).
* Maintain evaluation records of performance for individuals, providing verbal and written feedback in forward rounds and discharge planning meetings. Actively participate in the clinical discussion of service users’ needs and development of care plans.
* Contribute to discharge planning and support service users through their recovery pathway back into the community.
* Ensure the effective and efficient management and supervision of junior staff (2 Occupational Therapy assistants).
* Maintain and develop close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues within the multi‑disciplinary team, ensuring clinical practice aligns with Elysium policies, procedures, statutory regulations and quality standards.
* Contribute to business growth by actively promoting healthcare therapy services in line with the local unit’s business plan.
* Maintain effective communication links with service users, relatives, carers and external professionals throughout the service users’ rehabilitation journey.
* Contribute towards service evaluation and development.
To Be Successful In This Role, You'll Need
* To hold a BSc (Hons) or equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
* HCPC registration.
* RCOT membership is recommended, though not essential.
* At least 2 years clinical experience, including some experience in a mental health inpatient setting. Previous experience in an acute setting would be advantageous but is not essential.
