* Drug Screening: Comprehensive substance testing.
* Genetics: Whole Genome Sequencing.

The Opportunity
We are urgently seeking an HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be a vital part of our laboratory operations, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and laboratory excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform analysis of blood, haematological, and biochemical samples.
* Validate, interpret, and authorise laboratory results.
* Monitor and maintain quality control procedures and documentation.
* Perform daily maintenance and troubleshooting on laboratory equipment (e.g., haematology analysers, biochemistry analysers, immunochemistry analysers, microscopes, PCR equipment).
* Prepare and process patient samples, ensuring proper sample integrity and quality standards.
* Manage stock levels and liaise with senior staff regarding supply requirements.
* Contribute to updating standard operating procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Participate actively in staff training, supervision, and professional development.
* Handle urgent communications of critical results to clinical staff.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and laboratory best practices.
* Collaborate closely with the team to deliver fast, reliable, and quality diagnostic services.
Requirements
* BSc/MSc in Biomedical Science (Essential).
* HCPC Registration as a Biomedical Scientist (Essential).
* Minimum of 3 years' post-graduate experience in a medical laboratory/pathology setting (Essential).
* Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with key laboratory equipment.
* Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently.
* Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
* Must be fluent in English.
