Overview

Established (ideally looking for a candidate available to start 1st October 2025)

Salary: PR 10.2 £32,258 per annum (includes additional hours supplement)

Full time: 38.5 hours per week (36 standard hrs + 2.5 additional hours)

Days/Hours of Work: 5 days/week including weekends. Working pattern will change depending on whether the Palace is open 5 days per week or 7 days per week:

* 5 day opening (anticipated Sep-Feb): Weds-Sun (Mon/Tues off)
* 7 day opening (anticipated Mar-Aug): 3-week rolling pattern, incl. weekends

We are currently recruiting for a Palace Host Sales Deputy Team Leader at Kensington Palace, to join our Sales Team – a combination of both Retail and Admissions.

Working collaboratively as part of a united front of house team, supporting colleagues across the site, you will lead and motivate a team of Palace Host Sales to generate the vital money to grow our impact and care for our palaces.

You will deliver a seamless and distinctive customer experience across the site, ensuring that the highest levels of customer service are met, retail and admissions sales locations and staff are presented to the expected standards, and all published ticketing and cash handling procedures are adhered to.

As part of the leadership team, you will engage, and coach the team to achieve high performance and work in an agile and flexible way, leading the delivery of on-site sales targets and KPIs, including retail sales, admissions, membership sales, and ticket scanning.

You will also support ongoing and seasonal recruitment as required, and working with other Sales Deputy Team Leaders, deputise for the Sales Team Leader regularly.

A strong drive for achieving sales targets and the confidence to approach visitors and actively sell a wide range of products is essential. A key factor is to be an active team player in a small team, being flexible and able to anticipate and resolve any issues.

With customer service experience from retail, admissions or visitor attractions, you will have a positive and flexible approach, being able to adapt your style to respond to visitor needs. Some management experience would be desirable, but not essential.


Current Exhibition

‘Dress Codes’: Explore the codes and conventions of royal clothing, and the powerful impact fashion can make when boundaries are pushed, and dress codes evolve. Among the highlights of this exciting new exhibition are pieces worn by a young Queen Elizabeth II, Diana, Princess of Wales, Dame Vivienne Westwood, Princess Margaret and Queen Victoria. This exhibition will end on 30th November.
