Hays are working in partnership with a Non-Departmental body for the interim appointment of Director of Finance and Corporate Services- this is an immediate start and the director will report directly in to the CEO and will undertake direct management of staff.
Your new role
1. To oversee the finance function, ensuring proper administration of financial affairs; advising and assisting the Chief Executive and other Directors on budget and financial planning strategies; monitoring and revising the budget in line with changing demands and projected out-turns; and preparing the annual financial statements.
2. to oversee all aspects of internal and external audit of the financial affairs in line with best practiceernance and accountability;
3. to ensure effective control and management of the Council’s ie and expenditure;
4. to ensure the provision of meaningful, accurate and timely management accounting and performance measurement information to the Chief Executive.
5. to manage all tendering and procurement activity in accordance with relevanternment and guidelines and legislation.
What you'll need to succeed
Have successfully passed the final professional examinations and be a full, current member of one of the professional bodies detailed below:a. Chartered Accountants Ireland; b. The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland; c. The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales; d. The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants; e. The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants; f. The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy; g. The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland
A minimum of 3 years full-time post-qualification experience gained within the last 5 years at a senior level in an organisation with a record of success in financial management linking service delivery to strategic objectives.
