South Hampshire Women's Refuge is a safe space providing accommodation support for women and their children who are fleeing domestic abuse. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment, making sure each resident has access to the support and advice they need and empowering them to understand their options and make decisions for their future. Our ultimate goal is for our residents to move on to independent accommodation with the skills and tools to live a safe and happy life free from domestic abuse.
This role sits within our Southampton Service where we have a 10 bed refuge.
Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of survivors through their journey with Stonewater, using a strength-based, trauma-informed approach.
* Manage referrals into the service, undertake interviews and assessments, and notify potential customers of outcomes.
* Induct new customers into the service and deliver quality, outcome-focused support sessions in both one-to-one and group settings.
Qualifications
* Have proven experience of working with people in a similar role, with knowledge of homelessness and the impact on young people.
* Working knowledge of housing and benefits advice.
* Experience of partnership working with specialist agencies such as mental health teams and youth offending services.
* Be a natural relationship builder, able to motivate, influence and inspire others.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt your approach depending on your audience and the required outcome.
* Comprehensive understanding of professional boundaries, together with a high level of personal integrity.
* Confident using technology for overseeing support plans and risk assessments, collaborating with colleagues and completing online training.
Additional information
* Due to the nature of the role, you will be flexible in your approach and willing to be part of the on-call rota.
* Appointment to this role is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, satisfactory references, and possession of a valid Right to Work document.
