Teaching Personnel is delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Urmston, who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their Year 1 team from September.
This full-time role focuses on delivering tailored one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs. You’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive staff team committed to providing an engaging and accessible learning experience for all pupils.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver targeted SEN support through one-to-one and small group interventions
* Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering personalised learning activities
* Support the implementation and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
* Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
* Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external specialists to support pupil progress
* Monitor and adapt support strategies based on individual pupil development
The Ideal Candidate
* Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
* Has prior experience supporting children with SEN
* Demonstrates a patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
* Communicates confidently and works effectively as part of a team
* Has a strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
* Holds a Level 2 Safeguarding certificate (or is willing to complete training)
