AThe purpose of this role is to assist with strategic initiatives and deliverables, by co-ordinating across the team and wider group in planning and executing against all aspects of project and change management relating to the Treasury Operations department.
This includes, but not limited to operational assessment, business analysis, testing against requirements and implementation activities as applicable. Where possible identify and highlight risks, control gaps and opportunities throughout the deliverable scope.
The candidate will be fully supported by the Senior Treasury Operations Project Manager for upskilling and on-the-job support.
Attention to detail on departmental policy and procedures is a critical aspect of this role as the function is fully internally & externally audited to ensure standard are met and can be evidenced.
Responsibilities:
•Own the end-to‑end process for corporate bank account openings and closures, including:
oCoordination and submission of all KYC documentation required for new account setups.
oPreparation and management of bank account opening and closing documentation to meet external requirements.
oDeveloping knowledge of client money (CASS) regulations, with a willingness to upskill as required (training provided).
oEnsuring accurate digital storage of legal documents, mandates, and correspondence for team-wide access and audit readiness.
•Act as the Treasury Operations point of contact to document new requests, manage prioritisation, and maintain status trackers to provide transparency on progress and key event milestones.
•Represent Treasury Operations in cross‑functional meetings and forums, collaborating with Finance, Operations, Risk, and Technology to support and deliver business- and regulatory‑driven projects and initiatives.
•Support the implementation of process and procedural enhancements, contributing to a more structured, scalable, and well‑controlled departmental framework.
•Support the project manager and broader Treasury team by contributing to short‑term projects, analysis, and ad hoc tasks as required.
Skills & Experience:
•Relevant experience in change management, with the ability to adapt to evolving business and regulatory requirements.
•Strong communication and coordination skills, with a willingness to develop stakeholder‑management capabilities and effectively influence senior stakeholders.
•Positive, proactive, and team‑oriented mindset, with a “can‑do” attitude that supports both the department and the wider organisation.
•Preferred knowledge of:
oThe global SWIFT payment network (Marex's primary payment method).
oPayment‑processing fundamentals.
oSystem testing and payment‑flow testing, particularly relating to new bank account setups.
•Foundational knowledge—or willingness to upskill over time—in Financial Operations activities, including:
oTreasury cash management
oTransaction and account reconciliations, including cash, securities, and internal ledger accounts
oFutures and options clearing, including cash flows driven by initial and variation margin
oTrade support and settlement processes across a range of asset classes (e.g., equities, fixed income, money markets)
oForeign exchange and payments operations, including confirmation, settlement, and exception handling
•Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately and meet deadlines.
•Ability to prioritise effectively and remain composed under pressure, with support from the wider team.
•Commitment to improving controls and processes, contributing to a culture of continuous enhancement.
•Adaptability to changing regulatory requirements, ensuring consistent compliance.
•Upskill on Marex's SOX audit requirements as a Nasdaq‑listed company and ensure Treasury meet the related compliance standards.
•Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
As a Control Owner or Manager of a Control Owner you are expected to (where relevant):
•Be responsible for maintaining the internal control assigned to you in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley
•Day-to-day implementation, monitoring, and verification of internal controls designed to mitigate financial reporting risks and ensure SOX compliance.
•Implement and Maintain Controls: This involves ensuring that internal controls are designed, documented, and implemented effectively to address identified financial reporting risks.
•Monitor and Test Controls: Regularly assess the effectiveness of controls through testing and monitoring to ensure they are operating as designed and remain effective over time.
•Assist with internal quarterly reporting as applicable.
Duties include ensuring appropriate systems and controls are in place for reporting and compliance under SOX
