Caledonia Water Alliance is currently looking to recruit a Site Agent to work on our Scottish Water contract in Shetland.
As the Site Agent you will be part of our Operations Team. Who are responsible for safe, efficient, and cost-effectivedelivery of Water Projects on the Western Isles.
Caledonia Water Alliance a partnership between AECOM and Morrison Water Services will support the delivery of the SR21 Scottish Water Capital Investment Programme, a six-year water and wastewater infrastructure pan Scotland programme.
As the Site Agent your duties & responsibilities will be:
1. Reporting to the Construction Manager on a daily basis
2. Ensure all sites are compliant with company SHEQ policy and procedure and drive a strong Health & Safety and quality focus culture
3. Undertaking site safety audits and ensure that the site teams undertake their own audits
4. Thorough understanding of the project commercial position and efficiency targets and ensure that project costs are recorded and utilised efficiently
5. Identifying areas where the client should be made aware of issues through the EWN system
6. Ensure that materials have been procured and delivered and labour has been planned in accordance with construction programme
7. Liaison with the project teams to feedback on milestones and issues that arise and/or ensure that the teams on site contact the project teams
8. Manage subcontract packages of work and ensure sub-contractor construction programme are adhered to, identifying, and reporting areas of concern/delay.
9. Management of private land access and highway possessions
10. Manage work fronts in local communities and ensure a positive approach to dealing with members of the public
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
11. Management experience within the Construction industry – particularly experience in managing clean water rehabilitation projects and all methods of rehab used
12. Excellent understanding of Street work requirements
13. Excellent understanding of Health & Safety
14. Appropriate level of IT skills
15. Effective communication skills with the ability to influence
16. Ability to build relationships and deal with people from all backgrounds and situations
17. Current full driving licence
18. DOM’s & Water Hygiene – required, training can be given
19. New Roads and Street Works qualification – essential
20. SHEA Water CSCS – preferred
21. IOSH - preferred
Additional Information
The role is based on the Western Isles
You will be required to work both in an office environment and out on site.
Must be comfortable to work outdoors in all weathers and be required to walk and stand on uneven ground.
