We are The Red Gecko – designers, importers and retailers of jewellery, art and homewares from Bali. We were established in 2004 and have 4 boutique style stores in Brighton and the Lake District. Our products, staff and stores have an abundance of personality and we believe in adding value for our customers by offering unique products and a fabulous shopping experience.
Who are you?
A confident individual who thrives in a sole charge position, as this role will see you running the store and dealing with customers on your own. Fabulous customer service experience, not necessarily in retail, who goes the extra mile for their customers and loves to work in a fast paced, busy environment. A sense of fun and approachable personality that will benefit our customer service style – service with a smile. An interest or background in art, interiors, textiles or fashion would be well suited to this role along with a 'can do' philosophy. Being part of a small team you will need to be multi-skilled, adaptable and able to turn your hand to assist with all aspects of the business.
About the position…
* Being an integral part of the Bowness and Grasmere store, being responsible for the day to day running of either store in a sole charge capacity
* Offering our customers an exceptional shopping experience through a bright, positive, welcoming personality
* Assisting with stock management and control
* Using Shopify Point of Sale system
* Implementing seasonal sales promotions
* Receiving large and heavy stock deliveries
* Making our store shine This could be anything from repainting the floors and walls, decoupaging our counter or even upcycling a piece of display furniture.
* 14 to 21 hours per seek
* 7 hours per day (10am to 5pm) over 3 days - must be available to work either alternating fortnights MON/TUE/WED & MON/WED/THU - OR working each week SAT/SUN/MON

* Creative background to compliment our focus on merchandising and displays along with maintaining our signature style that our customers love
* People orientated person with outgoing personality
* Previous customer facing role
* Love working on your own
* Ability to handle large and heavy deliveries
* Love being busy and on your feet all day
