As our Year 1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in the classroom—working closely with the class teacher to support high‑quality learning and contribute to a warm, positive, and inclusive learning environment. Location: Burnley Contract: Full-time Start Date: Easter start Salary: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour Key Responsibilities Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities. Provide individual and small‑group support to help children progress academically, socially, and emotionally. Assist in creating a calm, organised and stimulating classroom environment. Encourage positive behaviour and help children build independence and confidence. Work collaboratively with staff to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs. Contribute to general classroom tasks, preparation of materials, and daily routines. We Are Looking For Someone Who: Is caring, approachable, and passionate about supporting young children. Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with staff and pupils. Is patient, proactive, and warm‑natured. Can follow direction from the class teacher while also showing initiative. Has experience working with children (school experience is desirable but not essential). Is committed to safeguarding and supporting the wellbeing of all pupils.
