Responsibilities
As a Specialist Tutor, you will:
- Provide academic guidance and create individual learning plans tailored to each student.
- Foster independent learning by supporting students to develop independence and build on their strengths.
- Teach strategies for organisation and time management.
- Formulate action plans to help students stay on track with their studies.
- Build research skills, including identifying appropriate sources and correct use of references.
- Enhance reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
- Act professionally, maintain confidentiality, and address student concerns promptly.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree (Level 6 minimum) and a professional membership recognised by the Department for Education (DfE).
- Professional membership (refer to internal accepted memberships list).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to help students build on their strengths while maintaining confidentiality.
- Punctuality, reliability, and good organisational skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload of students.
