Overview
Applications are invited for a Consultant Haematologist with interest in Lymphoma based at University Hospital of Wales (UHW), Cardiff. The Haematological Cancer Service at UHW is the largest in Wales and one of the busiest in the UK. It provides a secondary Haematology service to the population of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan (around 500,000 people) and the regional service to the population of South & West Wales. It is the only level 4 Haematology unit in Wales. The clinical Haematology service is supported by highly sophisticated diagnostics within the Directorate of Laboratory Medicine.
Responsibilities
 * Lead and participate in clinical studies, favouring portfolio badged studies but encouraging commercial studies.
 * Develop a research portfolio in clinical studies or laboratory science, in collaboration with Cardiff University.
 * Provide secondary care for patients with lymphoid malignancies across multiple sites, including day unit chemotherapy, ambulatory care and in‑patient services.
 * Support the teenage and young adult (TYA) cancer service, acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) service and central nervous system lymphoma service.
 * Run a portfolio of phase I, II and III clinical trials for patients with lymphoid malignancies from across South Wales.
Qualifications
 * Be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within 6 months of expected date of receipt of a CCT at the time of interview.
 * Provide names and contact details of referees covering at least the last 3 years of employment/training history in full.
 * Applicants who are currently or have most recently been employed as a substantive Consultant or as a Locum Consultant in post for more than 12 months must also provide the name of their Medical Director as an additional referee.

Applicants should either be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within 6 months of expected date of receipt of a CCT at the time of interview. You will be able to take advantage of the excellent Consultant contract for Wales. The basic salary range for this post is £110,240 per annum to £160,951 per annum.
