We have an exciting opportunity at our Dowty Propellers site in Gloucester for a Product Manager, Obsolescence Projects and OE Programmes. In this role, you will address business obsolescence challenges critical to our strategic growth. You will lead cross-functional project teams, define objectives, develop detailed project plans, and apply rigorous project management practices to ensure timely delivery within budget. Additionally, you will manage OE Programmes for airborne propeller systems and oversee the lifecycle of OE products. Collaborating with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, you will resolve complex issues and meet financial and contractual goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project management of varying project sizes and complexities
2. Programme leadership and P&L responsibility for assigned programmes
3. Manage customer relationships and contractual obligations
4. Contribute to Kaizen activities as part of lean leadership
5. Manage product changes for obsolescence resolution, reliability, cost reduction, or customer requests
6. Oversee product lifecycle via Tollgate process
7. Define scope, control changes, maintain risk registers, and manage budgets
8. Lead project reviews ensuring governance and risk management
9. Monitor project metrics and progress
10. Conduct programme and contract reviews with stakeholders
11. Improve customer satisfaction metrics
12. Deliver projects within budget
13. Maintain accurate sales forecasts
14. Manage OE demand via S&OP process
15. Drive growth and margin through pricing initiatives
16. Manage bids and proposals
17. Resolve issues impacting customer satisfaction, safety, quality, or OTD
18. Manage risks and opportunities
19. Contribute to continuous improvement of OE programme metrics
Qualifications and Skills:
* Degree or equivalent in Business, Engineering, Law, or related fields
* Proven experience in programme/product leadership within the aviation industry
* Strong project management skills
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Negotiation skills
* Ability to work independently with a strong drive and commitment
* Track record of managing multiple projects successfully
* Problem-solving and analytical skills
* Technical background in aerospace/aviation
* PMI certification
* Willingness to travel internationally up to 10%
