Grade: 7, Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £36,636 to £46,049 (potential progression to £48,822)
About the role
The Design and Creative Manager sits in the Campus Services Marketing team, delivering creative and design solutions across digital, print, and media. This role combines creative leadership with management responsibilities to drive innovative communication for Campus Services.
Responsibilities
* Lead the design and creative function of the marketing & communications team: oversee creative projects from initiation to delivery; sign off all design materials and campaign output.
* Create, plan and manage marketing campaigns across web, social media and digital platforms, including content creation, copy editing, and storyboard development.
* Advises on all areas of design, including scoping projects, equipment, software and process improvement.
* Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders; represent Campus Services Marketing at committees and meetings.
* Champion learning and development for the design team; support team members’ career growth.
* Ensure brand, accessibility, copyright and regulatory compliance across all assets.
* Identify new innovations and opportunities to support growth and university objectives.
* Promote equality, diversity and inclusion; act as a role model for inclusive culture.
* Support the university’s sustainability agenda through resource‑efficient working.
* Any other duties commensurate with Grade 7.
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree level in graphics, design, digital media or equivalent; significant related work experience.
* Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro), Microsoft Office, and CMS platforms.
* Strong understanding of typography, UI/UX, accessibility (WCAG AA), and brand consistency.
* Experience managing projects and budgets, and supervising a creative team.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Initiative, resourcefulness, flexibility and strong attention to detail.
* Knowledge of Equality Act 2010 and inclusivity practices.
* Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑project environment.
