Overview
Shift Team Leader role at Alstom, Barton Under Needwood, United Kingdom. This permanent position supports the Production Manager to deliver the service demands of the depot by leading and facilitating effective team work among team members for rolling stock/infra maintenance/servicing and renovation/modernisation activities.
Responsibilities
* Lead all aspects of the team in the maintenance, servicing to meet customer requirements within the working timetable.
* Deliver Start of shift Briefing (SOSB) and End of shift briefings (EOSB) to team members.
* Deploy team members in line with shift throughput requirements.
* Coordinate line of route ensuring that equipment, tooling and the work environment are left in a safe place.
* Deputise for the Production Manager as required to ensure business needs are maintained.
* Lead and prioritise workloads as agreed with the Production Manager/Senior Production Manager/Functional leads where required.
* Uphold site safety, including reporting unsafe acts, process deviations, AZDP compliance, Health/Wellbeing; participate in EHS initiatives, projects and investigations; competent in accident/incident reporting.
* Provide real time updates to the Production Manager on work progress, SQDC deviations and adverse events.
* Ensure worksheets are provided to the required standard and that shift paperwork (exam, daily, safety sheets) is completed.
* Ensure the team follows standard processes and that documentation and procedures are at the correct revision and signed off on completion.
* Conduct regular informal discussions with team members and provide regular feedback on team/individual performance.
* Be proactive in seeking input from team members and support communications from all departments to the team.
All About You
* Time served apprenticeship or equivalent with associated technical qualifications (Higher National Certificate/Ordinary National Certificate/City & Guilds) or recognised equivalent.
* In-depth understanding of the rail depot and rail industry operations.
* Proven experience in fleet and/or maintenance and/or renovation within an operations role.
* Ability to work and lead a team.
* Knowledge of Network Rail Rules and Regulations, H&S, COSHH and local safety procedures.
