 
        
        An exciting opportunity has arisen within Ward 1 & 2 Emergency Admission Unit (EAU) at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Gateshead, housed within a state-of-the‑art Emergency Care Centre (ECC) which was purpose built in 2015. The ECC has brought cutting edge healthcare to Gateshead, where we pride ourselves on innovative ways of providing emergency care to patients. You must have at least 2 years EAU experience and 2 years NMC registration to apply.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for experienced registered nurses who are passionate about providing excellent patient care within a vibrant and motivated teamand able to demonstrate strong leadership and managerial skills. This is a challenging fast‑paced working environment, caring for a diverse patient group, which will enable you tofurther develop yourclinical knowledge and skill set. Furthermore, interested individuals must possess excellentcommunication and interpersonal skills, be organised, hardworking, and have avision forthe continuing development of the service and the skills, enthusiasm and drive to undertake this exciting and challenging role. You will be expected to work both day and night shift, coordinating a 48 bedded unit.

Job responsibilities
 * Have the lead role for the development of clinical/educational practice in the ward environment.
 * Support the Band 7 in day to day management of the unit.
 * To assist the Band 7 in the ongoing financial management of the ward.
 * To assist the Band 7 in the recruitment and selection of staff.
 * To be responsible in the setting and maintaining of high standards of patient care.
 * Support the development of education and training within the unit.
Person Specification
Qualifications
 * Teaching Certificate
 * Diploma or Degree in Nursing or Health Related Subject
2 years experience at band 5
 * Minimum 2 years experience
 * Must have EAU experience
 * experience in emergency care
