Recruitment experts Optime are searching for kind, resilient, and physically capable Patient Care Assistants to support our respected client delivering non-emergency patient transport services across London. This role is based out of Enfield, with patient journeys covering a range of hospital locations across the city. No driving licence is required.

What’s on offer:
* Rate of pay: £13.85 per hour
* Shift Pattern (Full-time): 5 shifts per week
* Shift Length: 10 hours (with 1-hour unpaid break)
* Shift Times: Shifts will fall between 05:00 and 18:00 – you must be flexible to work a 10-hour shift within these hours
* Weekly Pay
* FREE on-site parking at Enfield base
* Temp to Perm (performance based)
Key Duties:
* Transporting non-emergency patients to and from hospitals, clinics, or other healthcare facilities.
* Working as two-person crew, responsible for supporting the travelling patient.
* Regular heavy-lifting, using equipment such as wheelchairs, stretchers and carry chairs as well as exposure to bodily fluids (including urine, faeces, vomit and blood).
* Assisting patients in and out of the ambulance, ensuring their comfort and safety during transportation.
* Liaising with healthcare professionals and other staff to ensure a high level of patient care.
* Completing patient documentation and reports accurately and in a timely manner.
* Maintaining the ambulance equipment and supplies, ensuring they are clean and in good working condition.
Area Coverage:
Based in Enfield, you will cover patient transport services to/from:
* Hampstead
* Whittington (Archway)
* Kings Cross Moorfields
* North Middlesex
* And other London locations as required
Requirements:
* Previous care experience is preferred.
* Physically able to lift and carry patients up to 70kg (including stair work)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Must have lived in the UK for 3 years or longer.
* Must pass a 2nd stage interview and physical assessment with the client.
* Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS Check (Regulated Activity with Children & Adults)
PLEASE NOTE: This role involves regulated activity with vulnerable adults and children. An Enhanced DBS check is required.
