An exciting opportunity has arisen on our Acute Frailty Unit (AFU) for a full‑time Clinical Support Worker to join our team.
A Clinical Support Worker (CSW) works under the supervision of registered nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals to provide healthcare and support with clinical duties.
Responsibilities
* Provide and support patients with personal and clinical care activities relevant to training.
* Maintain accurate records of the patient’s care, documenting appropriately on the Electronic Patient Record (Cerner) in line with Trust, professional and departmental guidelines.
* Observe patients and report any changes to a registered professional for review.
* Report any abnormal findings directly to the registered professional in charge or doctor.
* Undertake a range of basic housekeeping, stock control and administrative duties within the clinical environment.
AFU is a 25‑bed acute assessment unit for patients over 74 who may suffer from frailty. The ward includes an SDEC area (Same‑day emergency care) which runs 7 days a week. We liaise with community services and provide a rapid access clinic Monday to Friday.
