About the Role: As an Estimator, you’ll play a key role in the pre-construction process, supporting the continued growth of the business. Working as part of a small, dedicated team, you’ll be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, engaging with suppliers and subcontractors, and ensuring competitive and consistent pricing for projects across the region.
Responsibilities:
* Preparing tenders for a wide range of construction projects from initial enquiry through to submission.
* Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to produce detailed cost breakdowns.
* Sourcing labour, material, and subcontractor quotations and negotiating competitive prices.
* Producing logical, accurate, and well-structured estimates and bills of quantities.
* Attending site visits and pre-start meetings to assess project scope and requirements.
* Collaborating closely with project management, design, and procurement teams.
* Contributing ideas to improve estimating procedures and support company profitability.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as an Estimator within the general building or main contracting environment.
* Background in commercial, healthcare, refurbishment, or design-and-build projects.
* Strong understanding of tendering processes, drawings, and technical documentation.
* Proficient with Microsoft Excel; experience using Causeway or similar estimating software is advantageous.
* Excellent numerical, organisational, and communication skills.
* Confident managing multiple tenders and deadlines with attention to detail.
* Full UK driving licence.
Required Skills:
* Proven experience as an Estimator.
* Strong understanding of tendering processes.
* Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience using Causeway or similar estimating software.
* Background in commercial, healthcare, refurbishment, or design-and-build projects.
