The Career & Professional Development Center at Messiah University seeks to provide the highest quality career education for all students. We desire candidates who display a passion for preparing students for the world of work through innovative programs and services.
This 12-month, full-time position will contribute to the career and professional development of students in these ways:
* Coordinate career-related events and programs that connect students to post-graduate opportunities.
* Give oversight to the career management software (Handshake) and first destination survey.
* Manage and/or provide support to special projects, such as:
o departmental budgeting
o student touchpoint data
o on-campus recruiting
* Respond to various constituents including students, employers, faculty, parents, and alumni on inquiries related to career/internship services and opportunities.
* Manage work-study hiring and supervision.
* Create a friendly and hospitable environment to welcome guests and introduce them to CPDC services.
Education Required
Bachelor’s degree required; educational backgrounds in higher education, college student personnel, business, HR or related fields preferred.

Primary Duties
SPECIAL EVENTS & PROJECTS
1. Lead the planning and execution of select career-related events, including Career Expo, Tailgating for Jobs, Accounting Night, and Camp Days.
2. Coordinate logistics and planning needs for CPDC events and programs.
3. Give oversight to the annual first destination survey.
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide leadership to the career management software (Handshake) and serve as main point for contact for technical issues, employer support, etc.; manage coaching appointments, internship approvals, and event participation reporting in system.
2. Provide administrative and clerical support to director and CPDC staff; respond to, screen and direct emails/calls to appropriate individuals; answer routine inquiries from students, faculty, staff, employers, alumni, and community members.
3, Track monthly departmental budget expenditures.
4. Hire, train and supervise work-study students to serve as office/project assistants in the CPDC .
5. Maintain CPDC website; manage updates and edits.
6. Actively participate in team meetings, training and professional development, and Center-wide initiatives and programs.
7. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance
