Project Manager – Electrical
London based, £65-70,000
Summary
Responsible initially for the day-to-day activities of several projects. Taking operational responsibility whilst working under the direction of the company’s Senior Project Manager in all aspects of financial and commercial control of the project. Ensuring that the project is effectively resourced and that the relationships with the client, together with all employed parties, remain professional and constructive whilst ensuring that all of the client's employees are industry and H&S compliant at all times.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* Be fully conversant with the scope of the works for any project ensuring that delivery reflects this, with variations being recognised and communicated internally and to the client.
* Fully responsible for the project delivery, works, labour, sub-contractors on site and always remains compliant.
* Conduct a review of the tender information to ensure a seamless transition between the estimating function and operational delivery. Adhere to CDM regulations throughout the project.
* Carrying out safety inspections and ensuring that construction and site safety is always adhered to.
* Work per the project-specific software packages, ensuring that relevant information is communicated appropriately, including the review of drawing issues and notification of potential contract variations.
* Create and issue all required H&S documentation from inception and for the duration of the project to completion as per client-specific and industry expectations.
* If required, liaise with the H&S consultant for support and to aid in resolving any H&S issues that arise throughout the project duration.
* Identify material, labour and subcontractor requirements, working closely with.
* Organise and deploy all required labour on site in line with the scope, estimate and project plan.
* Make sure all labour is competent and in possession of the appropriate industry qualification or certification to carry out the works.
* Ensure that Purchase Orders are requested, received and are in line with the contract terms and conditions of the contract.
* Expedite and track all deliveries of major plant, equipment, sub-contract services or materials.
* Maintain and control all compliance documentation for the duration of the project.
* Maintain ‘red line’ as-installed drawings and records for each element of the project.
* Communicate and collaborate internally and with client representatives, daily reviewing project progress.
* Provide expert technical advice /support to all internal personnel and clients alike, throughout the project period, to offer proactive solutions to any issues that may arise.
* Be the custodian of all contract variations, responsible for ensuring they are captured, communicated to, and undertaken as per the contract and appropriate company protocols.
* Always safeguard the client’s operational and commercial position.
* Producing, checking and preparing site reports.
* Provide a Weekly Progress report, in the required format, in a timely and professional manner.
* Track and forecast all labour, project management hours and material expenditure in line with the information estimate.
* Work with Commercial Department to ensure that invoice applications and valuations are submitted on time and to client specific detail, following up with regular contact with the client to ensure timely payment of invoices.
* Attend all site meetings, including preparation of reports in line with expected frequency, as per the contract scope.
* At the main contractor project meetings, ensure that they are satisfied and that the companies professional and financial position is not compromised by any changes that may be instructed.
* Organise the testing and commissioning of the project, together with issuing the required Operation and Maintenance information to achieve contract sign off.
* Be the owner of issues during the defects liability period of the contract ensuring that any retentions are recovered at the earliest opportunity.
* Working closely with the central support teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information is produced.
* Supporting the estimating function as required.
Health and Safety

Knowledge
* Up-to-date knowledge of the construction industry with a focus on electrical installation
* Fully conversant with Project Management methodologies
* Broad understanding of construction Health and Safety law and legislation
Experience
* Minimum of [5] years proven Project Management experience in an electrical installation environment
* Proven understanding of P&L
* Demonstrable evidence of having managed a team
Qualifications
* IOSH Managing Safely and/or SMSTS
* Recognised technical qualifications in electrical installation
* Business standard of written and verbal literacy and numeracy
* Recognised qualification in Project Management
